3 Tips on Letting Go (Do what makes you feel alive)
What makes you feel alive?
I touched on this a bit in my last post, and honestly will probably continue to write and speak on this topic.
Let it all be free from weighing you down, right now, at the beginning of this post, I give you permission to rid yourself of the stressors you have and breathe. Inhale the positivity you wish to bare, and exhale everything you want to throw out.
Now that we are in a good place, let’s talk about the life you want. The situation you see yourself in that sounds crazy to others, the place you can’t even think about without tears, the career or professional path you want to take but can’t seem to let go of the modern ideal for work. This insanity you are keeping to yourself is why you are here, you were not meant for the mundane, and you were not built for the ideal structured life society has given you.
Tip #1 Accept your Calling
Honestly, just throw all the logistics out the window and dream for a moment would you! Here’s my example, my hubby and I want nothing more than to pull our little Specialty Goods and Coffee business around in our built out #vanlife van. While it sounds stressful, restrictive, and downright crazy to others, it makes us feel alive. When we are on the road, we can breathe, we are 100% ourselves, and we live.
So find what makes you feel alive, what keeps you up at night, what is in your #dreams pinterest board. Once you find and accept it as a calling, there’s no going back.
Tip #2 Release Fear
Sure, admitting it to yourself is one thing, but telling friends and family that it is not only an idea of yours, but actually something you wish to pursue, is terrifying. Going public with your aspirations is beneficial for 2 reasons. 1 it creates an obligation in yourself to complete the process and really do it. 2 it is statistically proven that you are 44% more likely to SUCCEED if you just write it down. I also wrote about this in “The Art of Letting Go” for more inspo!
Begin to think of it as what you are doing, not as a “someday” situation.
Tip #3 Start
Just begin, it’s that simple.
Learn along the way, there is no class, course, or google search that can prepare you for what is to come. LEARN ALONG THE WAY. Understand that it is more productive and beneficial to do the education you think you may need as you are building your dream, then to sit around taking notes on information while getting nothing done.
Buy a domain name, hop in the car, sell your house, get a camera, a canvas, or a kitchen aid. Whatever it is you are chasing, there has to be a beginning incentive action that you take. You want to perpetuate obligation to succeed every chance you get.
Picture yourself quitting your job, or getting the job of your dreams. Picture it over and over again until it is your reality. Change Your Artificial Life for the Real one that fits you.
What makes you feel alive
Just start,
right here,
right now
In 10 years, if you can picture yourself in your current situation, by all means stay. But. If there is something that will tug at you you’re whole life and you never do it, all you will have is “what ifs”
I don’t want my death bed to be full of “what ifs” I want them to full of “oh remember when’s”
