Vegan Chai Latte Waffles
AND IN THE MORNING, I’M MAKING WAFFLES.
Thank you to everyone who read that in the correct voice.
We got a Homemade Waffle maker for a wedding gift and I have to say it is UP THERE with my other favorites.
These Vegan GF (for Hunter) waffles are SO easy to make and even easier to demolish.
Go grab your real maple syrup it is breakfast time
Recipe
- 1 1/4 Cup Whole Wheat Flour (all purpose flour and Bobs Red Mill 1:1 works too)
- 1/2 Cup Chickpea Flour (Protein Baby!)
- 1/4 Cup Avocado Oil (Grapeseed is my next Fav)
- 3/4 Cup Oat Milk (Any Alternative Milk Works)
- 3/4 Cup Chai Tea Concentrate (you can most likely get it at your local COOP or make your own Masala Spice Mix
- 1 Tsp Baking Powder
- 1/2 Tsp Baking Soda
- 3 Tbsp REAL Maple Syrup
- 1/2 Cup Rolled Oats
- 1 Tbsp Crushed Flax Seed & Water
Add ons (Optional)
- Dark Chocolate Chips (They should be Vegan by default)
- Blueberries (mmmmmmm bluueeeeberries)
- Cinnamon (goes amazing with the Masala Chia Flavor in the Waffles
- Of course DRENCH them in Maple syrup when they are ready to serve
Instructions
- Mix all the ingredients in a bowl (or in your kitchen aid on medium for 3 minutes. I did not notice a difference between when I mix all the ingredients together vs when I first add wet/dry ingredients
- Let your waffle maker preheat (we used setting 4.5)
- Add about 3/4 Cup of batter to the waffle maker per waffle and it won’t overflow on the sides when it is pressed down.
- Our waffle iron tells us when it is ready, but if yours doesn’t give it about 90 secs before gently pulling up the handle to check it.
- We suggest putting your oven on “hold warm” so that each waffle you take out, just toss it in the oven so that 12 mins later when you’re finished, you have about 6 warm waffles waiting for you in the oven instead of out cooling on a pan.
Thank you SO much for checking this out and I hope these play out for ya!
Let me know how you like them and your favorite waffle topping, mine is chocolate chips by far!
Happy Baking
